Self-love Creed

I am done being ashamed of the body I reside in.

I vow to love and cherish every inch of myself so that I may stand grounded in who I am and feel worthy of doing the work that I do in the world.

I no longer link the size of my body to my self worth and release any shame I have carried about being fat.

I stand before you vulnerable and bearing my soul so that you may see that you are not alone.

I have let my feelings of imperfection hold me back from living my fullest expression far too long.

I am done hiding behind my shame.

You Come Alive!

Feelings.
Our messengers.
Yet we’ve been taught to avoid them and stuff them down by numbing them.
Pain, fear, grief, anger, frustration, hunger.
We’ve all been taught they are not welcome.
It makes people uncomfortable when you express them.
So stuff them down and make them go away.
That’s how we deal with them.
But when the world slows down and all of your numbing agents aren’t available or working, what then?
When those feelings arise and demand to be heard and seen what are you supposed to do?
You allow yourself to feel them!
You let those messy feelings move through you without judgement.
You feel the discomfort and pain.
You rage.
You cry.
You scream.
You shake.
You FEEL!
You come alive.
You untame yourself.
And then you pick yourself up and walk with your head high.
You approach the world through a new lens.
You see things with empathy and have the courage to take another step.
Allow your feelings to show you the way.

Listen Listen…

Surrender to the magic.

Allow the sadness to move through you.

Listen to its whispers, it’s your teacher.

You can not wish it away.

Sit with it, befriend it, heal through it.

There is much to learn.

Published by Astara Solae

I created 13MOONS Magazine to resurrect the sacred feminine in Stories and Art. As a Seeress who'd worked directly with Oshun, Yemaya, Oya, and other earlier Goddesses, I noticed a stark difference in these energies and those of later iterations, such as Venus and Aphrodite. It is like parts of these beings were stripped away. Whether to fit the fashion of culture or men, I'll leave for you to decide, but this just didn't sit right with my spirit. And so I dreamed of a platform which would amplify the real voice of the feminine - Stories and Art created by actual women from our perspective, without apology. And here we are.I am called Astara, a name I received during meditation, meaning Little Sirius. I am here to draw down the energy of Ast, also known as Auset, Isis, and the latest: Mother Mary, truly just a hint of the Original anymore. I am here to Remember and to help Remind us of who we are as women, who we are beneath patriarchal whitewashing and power politics as religion. I am here to Remind us of the wisdom we hold within each of our cells which we have mistakenly (and blasphemously) called our meat suit. I am a Sensual Fluency Educator and Tranceworker, offering tools I've channeled from my own body to help you connect with yours. Reach out anytime if you'd like to hear more.
